Embracing November with a Grateful Heart
As November unfolds and the holidays approach, I find myself embracing a moment of stillness and reflection, taking time to pause and truly appreciate the people, opportunities, and experiences in life. I find that November is not just about preparing for the holidays—it’s about cultivating gratitude. For me, gratitude often starts with prayer—a quiet moment of connection where I can reflect on the blessings in my life. In the stillness of these moments, I acknowledge not just the big milestones, but also the small, often overlooked gifts. It’s a practice that brings me peace and helps me stay grounded amid life's demands.
In a world that can sometimes feel divided, the bonds of community provide a sense of belonging and mutual support. It’s a reminder that we are all interconnected, and that we rise together when we show up for each other. I am incredibly grateful for the community here at Dunbar Road. In my work, I am fortunate to meet and collaborate with so many wonderful clients. Each project is an opportunity to learn and grow, and I am continually inspired by the trust and creativity that my clients bring to the table. It's a gift to know that the spaces we create together can bring comfort, beauty, and joy into their world.
I'm surrounded by such a talented team here at Dunbar Road. Their dedication and hard work are the backbone of everything we accomplish, and I truly couldn’t do what I do without them. Each team member brings their own unique blend of creativity, sharp attention to detail, and an unwavering work ethic that drives our success. Their contributions make all the difference, and I am thankful to work alongside such an incredible group of women! Â
In this season of Thanksgiving, I invited each of them to consider and share what they’re grateful for. It’s telling how each one of them chose special people in their lives, another reminder of the importance of community in our world.
Cristina: I feel so grateful to work in such a beautiful, creative field and connect with talented people every day. It’s amazing to collaborate and share ideas with others, blending creativity to make something special.
Eugenie: I am so thankful for my incredible boss and coworkers! Their inspiration and positivity make each day a happier place to be. Working with such a supportive and motivating team makes a huge difference, and I feel lucky to be surrounded by this group of women!
Lexi: I am also thankful for my amazing coworkers who are all like family! I look forward to coming to work every day and surrounding myself with such encouraging women.
Madeleine: My mom has always been my support system! Planning a wedding while also working full time has been a lot, and I appreciate all the work my mom has been putting into it. My fiancé, Kyle, has been also so helpful in wedding planning and is always a source of peace in my life.
Lindsey: I am grateful for my dad’s health! It was a tough year for him and my family, and we are all so thankful that he is well.
Katie: I am grateful for my sister and being able to live in the same town as her! There have been some trying moments this year, and I’m so blessed to be able to lean on her when times get tough. She’s my rock, and I’m so thankful to call her my sister!
Margaret: I’m going to follow Katie’s lead and add that I too am so thankful for my sisters, Mary and Maureen. Since our parents’ passing, Mary has been the guardian for Maureen, who was born with cerebral palsy. Maureen lives in a group home, and Mary, who lives nearby, has been committed to her care and support. Having a family member with special needs has been a profound gift in my life, teaching me invaluable lessons in patience, empathy, and love.
Sofia: I’m incredibly grateful for my brother, Gavin. He’s always there when I need someone to talk to, always supporting and understanding me. He never fails to put a smile on my face. I love and appreciate him so much!
As we move deeper into the holidays, I encourage you to cultivate gratitude and share that sense of thanks with those around you. Let’s all hold space for both the big and small blessings that make life so beautiful.
Happy Thanksgiving!
