Happy Fall! After a hot Texas summer, it’s such sweet relief when the temps start to drop. Crisp mornings, changing leaves, spice-scented candles – I adore all that October has to offer. I also love the annual tradition that is The Family Place’s Partners Card program that begins in Dallas this year on Friday, October 25th and runs through Sunday, November 3rd. For those unfamiliar, The Family Place is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering survivors of domestic abuse through safe housing and counseling (in addition to other programs). For over thirty years, through their annual Partners Card program, The Family Place has raised over $22 million to support their work as an effective and powerful advocate for social change to end family violence. With the purchase of a Partners Card (100% of proceeds going directly to TFP), shoppers can receive 20% off at participating retailers and 10% off at restaurants throughout the DFW area. For many years, Partners Card has kickstarted my holiday shopping, allowing me to cross things off my list early. I know some people balk at the idea of thinking about the holidays this early, and I get it – I do! – but when I was a busy mom of three young children, I was thankful to have a reason to shop early for gifts for neighbors, teachers and family. An ode to the history and inspiration behind Dunbar Road Design, The Palm Beach is inspired by our favorite sun-soaked, bright and cheery city! Plentiful with lemons, limes, and sprigs of boxwood, this garland is reflective of the true essence and style of Dunbar Road!
The Valencia Collection was inspired by one of our favorite movies, Pride and Prejudice, and is created in the Christmas spirit of the old English Essex Bay utilizing natural elements of oranges, allspice, and artichokes surrounded by soft, blue velvet ribbon.
The Charleston was inspired by our love of the charming city of Charleston, South Carolina. Overflowing with luscious white magnolia blooms, ruby-red berries, and accented with velvety red and chartreuse ribbon, this collection brings the charm of the South straight to your home!
The Oxford was inspired by the Charles Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol. It is rich in texture and bountiful with fruit such as grapes, pomegranates, and delicious red and green apples. A regal, traditional touch is added with a plaid taffeta ribbon wound throughout. This garland would do well in any setting and makes you feel as if you’ve been transported to the beautiful English countryside.
Reminiscent of the Colorado flora and fauna, clad with pheasant feathers, pinecones, antlers, and finished with a chocolate brown and warm red flannel ribbon, the Telluride is perfect for a cozy cabin or rustic ranch!
